Donegal County Council has been asked to renew the road lining of the Long Lane in Letterkenny.
The busy residential area has numerous ramps and junctions with faded markings.
Mayor of Letterkenny Gerry McMonagle raised a motion on the issue at Tuesday’s meeting of Letterkenny-Milford MD, pointing out that many ramps are no longer clearly marked.
He called for works to be programmed on the Long Lane and all junctions leading off it in the interest of road and pedestrian safety.

In response, the council said that a 400-metre section of the Long Lane is due to be resurfaced and that road markings will be renewed as part of the works. The council added that other sections would be considered for renewal subject to available funding.
