A Donegal artist is using Michael Murphy’s dressing room celebration after last weekend’s Ulster Final win to raise money towards Donegal Cancer Flights and its services.
Kincasslagh artist Michelle Doherty was so taken by the Donegal star’s relaxed pose that she decided to paint a portrait of it.
The big Glenswilly man is perfectly captured looking exhausted (but happy!) with the Anglo Celt Cup and a few well-deserved beverages by his side.
Michelle is raffling off the painting and has raised almost €1,000 already.
She said “I felt so inspired to paint this that I grabbed a canvas at 7.30am on Sunday morning after seeing this on someone’s story and I’ve been working on it since! What a photograph.
“It’s such a special moment captured brilliantly of the one and only Micheal Murphy during the post match celebrations in the changing room.
“This is such a joyous and monumental moment in Micheal’s career, winning his sixth Ulster Final after coming out of retirement.
“The look of sheer delight on face as he takes it all in along side the Anglo Celt – just magic. Rocking his farmers tan!”
Lines for the raffle are €5 each and Michelle can be contacted on Revolut by following this link:

Michelle will pick the winner in a couple of weeks time and is hoping to get the man himself to sign it before then.
