A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two people were seriously injured when a car struck a number of people outside a pub in County Down last night.
The PSNI said the incident occurred around 11.05pm on Main Street in Millisle.
After crashing into the crowd the car is reported to have turned around and been driven past the pub again before making off from the scene.
“The vehicle was located a short time later outside Walkers Lane, Millisle. One man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a number of driving offences, he is currently in police custody,” said Detective Inspector Oonagh Ryan.
Police officers and members of the ambulance service responded and provided treatment.
Two people were taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Main Street in Millisle is closed as part of a follow up operation.
The PSNI is appealing for anyone who was in the area last night or who has relevant dashcam or doorbell footage to contact them.
