Finn Harps have been dealt a blow after veteran midfielder Dave Cawley announced he is leaving the club.

Cawley said he was departing Finn Park due to family commitments.

He appeared forty times for the club after signing ahead of the 2024 campaign and recently celebrated making his 400th appearance in senior football.

The Ballina native played a vital role in the dressing room as a mentor to young players making the transition to first team football from the Finn Harps Academy.

“Everyone at the club would like to thank David for his efforts and commitment during his time at Finn Park and wish him the best of luck for the future,” said a spokesperson for the Ballybofey outfit.
