A man in his 20s and a woman in her 70s have died after a fire broke out at a house in Connemara Co Galway this morning.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the bungalow home at Glenicmurrin near Casla shortly after 6am.
Fire services attended the scene. The victims were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A technical examination of the bungalow will be carried out in an effort to determine the cause of the blaze.
The bodies of the man and woman will be removed to University Hospital Galway later today, where post-mortem examinations will be carried out.
