Donegal TDs to meet with Health Minister over surgical hub issue

Donegal’s TDs are to meet with Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill today to discuss the issue of a surgical hub for the North West.

It has been confirmed that Sligo University Hospital was being put forward as the preferred location for the facility instead of Letterkenny.

Last week, the HSE confirmed this was the case, leaving serious concerns that Letterkenny University Hospital will be downgraded as a result.

Donegal TDs will today meet with the Health Minister to outline their concerns.

The meeting follows calls by more than 170 GPs from Donegal requesting such a meeting.

Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher confirmed to Donegal Daily that the meeting will take place later today.
