A Co Donegal church has been forced to close after an invasion of honey bees.
Parish priest of St Columba’s Church in Burtonport, Fr Pat Ward, has been forced to close the chapel known locally as Acres.
A video taken inside the church taken this afternoon shows the bees buzzing about the place.
A loud sound of the bees swarming about can also be heard in the video.
Another shows hundreds of the bees flying around a stained-glass window and swarming on a table.
Now efforts are being made to get professional help in a bid to take away the swarm of bees before morning mass tomorrow.
“Acres Chapel has been locked due to an infestation of honeybees.
“Trying to get someone to remove them from the apse ceiling. Check here before Mass tomorrow,” as spokesperson for the church posted.
