There’s been an almost 30% decrease in the number of planning permissions granted in Donegal in the first quarter of this year.
According to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO), there were 119 permissions granted for houses and 9 for apartments (total 125) between January and March this year. That’s down 27.7% from 164 the first quarter of 2024.
Nationally, there was an annual decrease of 2.5% in the total number of dwelling units approved in Quarter 1 (Q1) 2025 to 8,177 units, down from 8,387 units in Q1 2024.
