A thunderstorm warning is in place for Donegal today, with heavy downpours forecast.
There’s a risk of localised flooding, lightning damage, and difficult travel conditions due to poor visibility throughout the day.
The status yellow alert came into effect from 7am and will remain until 5pm.
It will remain warm with temperatures expected to reach between 16 and 18 degrees, with moderate southeasterly winds.
Tonight will also see plenty of cloud with showers and isolated thunderstorms possible. A humid night with areas of mist and fog developing. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees in moderate southeast winds.
The outlook for the coming days will bring continued humid conditions with heavy showers and the risk of thunderstorms across the country, particularly on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is forecast to bring more dry weather and sunny spells.
