Lurgybrack resurfacing project programmed to take 10 weeks

A €1.7million resurfacing project is due to be carried out on the N13 to Lurgybrack Road in Letterkenny this summer.

The project is expected to get underway in the coming weeks, after the Donegal International Rally and the closure of Lurgybrack National School for summer holidays.

The works are initially programmed to take approximately 10 weeks to complete.

The upgraded road will include a 3.4km stretch from Dry Arch Roundabout, and continuing past the Convoy/Listillion junction toward Dooballagh.

To aid traffic disruption during peak times, Donegal County Council plans to carry out works between Dry Arch Roundabout and, (L1114) Leck Road junction during night-time hours. The remaining works are programmed for completion during restricted daily working hours.

A notice said: “Various traffic management arrangements will be in place onsite for the duration of the works including stop/go operations.

“Traffic disruption will be managed as far as is reasonably practicable, but road users should expect some delays and allow additional time to travel safely through the works site.”

Donegal County Council was allocated €1,700,000 from Transport Infrastructure Ireland for the ‘N13 Lurgybrack to Listillion Pavement’ project earlier this year.
