A Letterkenny councillor was delighted when signage was installed less than an hour after he raised the issue with the council this week.
Councillor Donal Coyle had raised a motion this week seeking signs and markings on a ramp on a hill at Ballymacool.
Shortly after the motion was passed, Cllr Coyle informed the meeting he had received a text confirming council staff were already on site.
Cllr Coyle’s motion related to a ramp near the Donegal Centre for Independent Living.
He told the Letterkenny-Milford MD that the ramp was lacking white paint or any visible markings, posing a risk to motorists.
“If there was a sign on both sides of the road that would help the situation,” he said.
Cllr Coyle was also told that an upgrade of road markings is on the way for the area, but this is dependent on the availability of funding.
