Don’t pack away the t-shirts and shorts just yet.

Today might be filled with showers for Father’s Day.

But the country is set to get warmer with each passing day this week with a mini heatwave on the way.

Met Éireann has forecast Wednesday will be a “fine summers day” with plenty of sunshine and temperatures up to 21 degrees.

Thursday is set to be warmer with a mix of cloud and spells of sunshine and will climb up to 23 degrees.

Friday will be warm and humid with light winds and sunny spells, and with the odd isolated shower possible in places but temperatures could climb to 23 degrees.
