There was an ‘unbelievable’ turn out for the Donegal Community Games finals which were held yesterday afternoon at the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny.
The event started with the hurdles, then on to the 100m 200m 600m, 800m and then the 1500m. This was followed by the long jump, high jump, javelin and shot putt.
A great day was enjoyed all round with the weather in their favour and with a lot of great performances.
All winners will now go to the national finals next month in Athlone.
Donegal Community Games Chairman, Manus O’Donnell, took the opportunity to thank everyone that came to the finals and said it was a great day for the children.
Finally, the Kathleen Hagan Memorial Trophy was presented to Fanad this year by Sinead Coloran from the National Community Games committee.
Tony McCarry and Laura Kerr received the trophy on behalf of Fanad Community Games. Mr McCarry said it is always nice to get awards and get recognised for the work they do.
