Cloghan man Aaron Tourish is on his way to Kerry this summer as an Escort for the Rose of Tralee Festival.

Aaron, a past pupil of Dooish NS and St Columba’s College in Stranorlar, says it is a “privilege and true honour” to get accepted as an escort.

The son of Damien and Aisling Tourish, Aaron is one of 32 young men who were put through their paces in a boot camp to get fit and ready for the role.

His job from 15th – 19th August will be to make life as easy as possible for his assigned ‘Rose’ as she embarks on the tour and various events.

Aaron said: “I have always thought that it would be an experience of a lifetime getting involved in this festival and since being at bootcamp last week I feel that experience is just getting started.

Getting to meet the other 31 Rose Escorts and the team behind it in Tralee was so surreal and great craic. From hiking, karaoke, beach exercises and getting splashed by a fire hose I couldn’t think of a better bunch of lads to do it with.”

Aaron is backed by sponsors D Tourish Groundworks & Construction Ltd., Tool Force, Sonny McSwine’s / McCafferty’s Bar Group, Mantis Cranes and Pro-Fitness.
