The Four Masters GAA Club in Coventry plans to celebrate its 70th anniversary this year with a number of events, including a tour to Donegal next week.
Founded in 1955 by two proud Donegal Town men, PJ Burke and Patsy Meehan, it was named in honour of their home club of the same name.

The club quickly became a vital part of the Irish community in the city. Over the decades, it has provided a home from home for generations of players and supporters, proudly promoting Gaelic football.
As part of their Platinum Jubilee celebrations, they’re making a return to Donegal Town on the weekend of 27th June. Over 25 club members will be travelling, including Sharon Dixon, daughter of founding member, Patsy Meehan.
“We’re really looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces and would love to meet any former members while we’re there,” a spokesperson for the club told Donegal Daily.

Later in the year, they will be hosting a 70th Anniversary Dinner Dance on 8th November at The Butts Arena, Coventry. It promises to be a memorable evening honouring the club’s past, present, and future.
To mark the occasion online, they’ve also launched a social media campaign, sharing ‘a photo a day’ to celebrate 70 years, celebrating the people and moments that have shaped the club over the decades.
“If you have any old photos to share, stories to tell, or if you’re interested in joining us at the dinner dance, we’d love to hear from you”.
