Temperatures are set to soar as high as 28 degrees today in Donegal, on what is set to become the hottest day of the year.
Met Éireann’s latest forecasts are showing that while the high temperatures might be spoiled for some in the south of the country by the presence of rain and thunderstorms, conditions are set to be glorious in the North-West throughout today.
Their forecast for Ulster is predicting warm and sunny conditions with good spells of sunshine, as the Donegal Rally is set to kick off and the school year has almost come to an end on a fine June weekend.
However, tomorrow things may get a little more unsettled on the weather front.
Temperatures on Saturday are expected to reach between 19 and 24 degrees according to the national forecaster, but to be joined by scattered showers which could turn heavy and possibly thundery at times.
