It’s not often that an eight-time All-Ireland winner pops up unannounced at a kids’ training session.
However Dublin legend Michael Darragh MacAuley did just that earlier this week when he offered a helping hand at Na Rossa GAA’s Under 10s training session.
Michael Darragh dropped by the club in Leitir on Thursday evening, and upon spotting the U10s in the middle of their training session he was more than happy to help them pick up a few skills from a former GAA Player of the Year.

He was joined by his partner Sarah McCaffrey, a fellow former Dublin star and two-time All-Ireland winner in her own right, in leading the lucky youth players through a few drills.
Michael Darragh has close ties to the area, as his father Dr Michael McAuley was a Lettermacaward native.
The club thanked Michael Darragh and Sarah for their kind gesture via social media.
“We had the pleasure of welcoming Michael Darragh MacAuley and his partner Sarah McCafferty to Leitir on Thursday who kindly called over to see our U10s training during their flying visit,” Na Rossa posted.
“Michael Darragh, who has fond affection for Leitir as his late father (Michael), was born and bred in the Lettermacaward parish. (He) says that he will be cheering for Donegal on Sunday week v Meath.”
“Thank you so much Michael Darragh and Sarah.”
