The Tír na nÓg Community Centre in Gortahork has launched a series of four Road Race Events which will be held through April and May with the first taking place this evening, Friday.
The series includes two 5km Races and two 5 mile races on road. The races will take place over three different courses, which brings these events to the heart of the local community and also gives participants unique challenges across different courses.
The Falcarragh to Gortahork Race will be the first event which takes place at 7p.m. this evening. The 5 mile Railway Run course takes place along a course with picturesque scenery of Muckish, Errigal and the sea along the old Cashelnagore Railway Station.
This will be a great opportunity for athletes, fun joggers and walkers to take part in a competitive and recreational event and to monitor their fitness through the various races. Please encourage a few of your friends to take the challenge. All are welcome to participate in these Runs/Walks. The events are not just for the serious athletes but for anyone whether you wish to run, jog or walk.
These events are ideal for anyone wishing to improve their fitness or get in shape for Summer or for a forthcoming event over the Summer.
For individuals running/walking all four events, points will be awarded across a range of Junior, Senior and Masters categories with prizes presented at the end of the four race series in the Tír na nÓg Centre on May 18th.
So take on a new challenge. All you need is a pair of trainers and away you go. Registration at the Tír na nÓg Centre prior to each race.
