In the wake of a recent successful launch, the newly-formed Donegal Dublin Business Network (DDBN) will hold a Breakfast Seminar on 27th April next.
The group aims to foster mutually beneficial relationships between Dublin-based members of the business community who are from Donegal or who have strong links to Donegal. More than 120 people attended the inaugural DDBN event in February.
The breakfast briefing will take place in the 1900 Restaurant at 59 Harcourt Street at 7.30am and will feature two guest speakers.
Laura Mohora, a Talent Acquisition Partner with LinkedIn in Dublin will conduct a “Rock your LinkedIn Profile” session designed to help those present optimise their presence on the business networking website. She will be introduced by her LinkedIn colleague, Letterkenny man Declan Sweeney, who is a member of the DDBN and who will give an overview of the LinkedIn organisation, its mission and product offerings.
The event’s other speaker is Garret Harte, former editor-in-chief of the Newstalk 106-108 radio station. The Raphoe native will offer an insider’s view on media consumption in Ireland, advising how to cut through the noise to make informed choices that can drive a positive business outcome. He’ll also detail the importance of audience engagement when advertising and recommend approaches that deliver the best results.
The event is free of charge. A complimentary breakfast, sponsored by Northstone Construction, will be served and the venue has been sponsored by the McGill family of the Harcourt Hotel.
The DDBN will be urging those interested in becoming involved in their organisation to fill out a membership application at the breakfast briefing. Membership is open to people who have an office or business address in the Greater Dublin area and who are from Donegal or who have strong links to the county.
The business network is working on creating a website and this will soon be able to process membership applications. The €30 fee for the remainder of 2017 will give members entry to future events. It will also facilitate discounts in a number of businesses with links to Donegal. The DDBN’s next event, which will feature Jim McGuinness in mid-May, will be members only.
Those interested in becoming members of the DDBN are advised to email donegaldublinbusinessnetwork@gmail.com or contact the group through LinkedIn and Twitter @DDBN2017
