A woman has died in Co. Galway this morning after a caravan was blown off a cliff.
Severe winds gusts from Storm Ali lifted the caravan off a cliff at Claddaghduf near Clifden in Co Galway at around 7.45am.
Gardaí said a woman in her 50s was inside the mobile home at the time.
Emergency services have recovered the body, which is expected to be removed to UCG for a post mortem examination. The local coroner has been notified.
The incident comes as the West coast is hit with severe wind gusts of up to 130km/h this morning.
A status orange wind warning remains in place for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Clare and Kerry until 1pm.
