Icy road conditions have been reported across Donegal this Wednesday morning due to overnight frost.
Cold conditions combined with wintry showers last night have led to a widespread frost, which has been reported mainly on minor roads and some mountain routes in the county.
Ice and treacherous conditions have been reported locally around Carrigans, St Johnston, Killea and at Meenaroy.
Council gritters were deployed on main routes from 5am, however motorists are being warned to assume that no road is ice free.
AA roadwatch warns: “If you are driving in such conditions slow down, take care and remember that stopping distances are approx. 10 times longer in snow and ice.”
