The Junior Golf Camp, which is being run by Core Pro Fitness Institute, is the first of its kind in the North West and will give aspiring young golfers the chance to improve all aspects of their game, both physically and mentally.
Speaking about the camp, which will be held at Core Pro Fitness Institute and Rosapenna Golf Club from the 25th April, Tommy Gallagher, Director of Golf Fitness at Core PFI said: “The course that we have developed replicates what the world’s top golfers are now doing and aims to develop not just the young golfer’s swing, but all aspects of the game including physical performance, mental toughness and nutritional requirements”.
The three day camps are now fully subscribed, so due to overwhelming demand extra one day camps have been added to the schedule.
The students will have their swing and physical ability assessed at Core Pro Fitness Institute. This forms the basis for their personalised training plan which will be implemented throughout the day.
There is an option of spending an extra day at Rosapenna Golf Resort, where the young hopefuls take part in further swing analysis using the state of the art Trackman Combine. This is then followed by a round of golf on one of Rosapenna’s courses.
Talking about his decision to develop the course for younger players, Tommy explained “technical ability, physical fitness and mental agility have become the mainstay of any serious golfer in the modern era, and there is a general recognition in all sports that these disciplines need to be worked on from an early age.
This camp, which is run by our own Titleist Performance Institute and PGA Professionals, aims to develop these skills and who knows, it may act as a stepping stone for the next Brian McElhinney or Rory McIlroy”.
The One Day Easter Junior Golf Camp begins on Monday 25th April and is open to 11-18 year olds.
