Letterkenny Athletic Club (LAC) is celebrating after its athletes secured impressive wins in a very competitive field at the North West 10k over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Mark Grennan of LAC was first home in a fantastic time of 32:23, reclaiming the title after his first win in 2022.
Noeleen Scanlon continued her winning streak, claiming the women’s title for the second year in a row with a remarkable time of 36:07.
LAC’s success didn’t stop there. Philip McHugh secured a well-deserved third place, finishing the race in an excellent time of 32:57.
The event was very well supported by LAC runners.

Congratulation to LAC’s Philip McGee who ran an outstanding time of 8.39 in a 3km race ran on the track in University College Dublin’s grounds in a Graded Meet winning the race and earning Philip a personal best.
In the Ramelton Scoil Mhuire 5km many LAC athletes participated with Dessie Shields the first LAC runner home in a superb time of 18:10.

In the Belfast City Marathon Claire McGuigan of LAC ran an outstanding time of 2:50:06 while Samuel Rankin ran 4:19:42.
The Hickey, Clarke & Langan Inter Firms 5km is scheduled to take place on Tuesday the 14th May 2024 at 7.30pm from Diver’s Hyundai on Canal Road, Letterkenny
LAC meets Tuesday 5.15pm and at 6.30pm for an interval running session, Thursday evening for a hill run at 6pm, Saturday morning at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday morning at 8am for a long run.
All runs start at the Aura. All levels catered for and encouraged.
Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 5.45pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny.
The aim of the programme is to reach out to those who wish to improve their fitness and all are most welcome any Monday they choose to attend.
Fit 4 Life is not about speed but fitness and the coaches from LAC particularly welcome newcomers.
