GAA: LETTERKENNY GAELS GAA NOTES

Our U21s recorded a good victory over Lifford in the Quarter final of the U 21 championship on Tuesday evening last.  Final Score 1-13 to 0.7. They are due to play Milford in the semi-final on Tuesday the 6th September in O’Donnell Park at 6.30pm. Both senior teams played in the championship at the weekend. The reserves travelled to Malin for the 2nd Leg 1st Rd of the championship and came away with a hard earned victory 3-8 to 2-8. Oisín Mc Elhinney, Kevin Kilkenny, Anthony McDaid, Shane Gildea were outstanding. In the Junior championship at Pairc na nGael Downings held on for victory as the home side came more and more into the game. Oisín Cannon, Ciaran Cannon and Aaron Bradley performed well for the home side. The Playoff is on Saturday 17th Sept. Both teams have League games at home on Sat evening next against Na Rossa Throw inn times are 4.30 and 6pm. The Minors play Termon in the quarter Final of the championship at the Burn on Friday evening with a 6pm throw inn. The U15s play Naomh Colmcille in the Semi-Final of the championship in Newton on Sunday with a 12noon throw inn

U12 hurlers battled hard against a strong St. Eunan’s but were unable to take the points. Final match at home vs Buncrana on Thurs 8th Sept. U13 hurling competition starts on Sunday 11th, details at training on Tues 6.30pm.Gaels young U13 gaelic team tried their best against Fanad Gaels and finished the match strongly. Next match is away to Downings next Saturday 10th Sept. Congratulations to Donal McCormack on finishing fourth in the U12 county gaelic skills competition.

Congratulations to our club Secretary Jim McGlynn who has been recently elected as Treasurer of the County Board. A Great honour for the club as this is our first member on the county executive.

The club are holding their Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday September 25th. The day will include a Barbecue, athletics, Novelty and many fun events.  Something for all the family.Further information will be available in the coming weeks   Check our website letterkennygaels.donegal.gaa.ie for all details on training times for all ages and all the latest news. Lotto results for weekending the 4th September No’s drawn were 9,11,12 & 23 Match 3 winner was  Martin O’Donnell Sentry Hill. Letterkenny Jackpot next week is 1,150 Euro.
