Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 19.03.12

This week we said a sad farewell to our Hall of Fame player, the Great Seamus “Iron Man” McCann. A highly decorated player in his days in the Black & Amber and with Donegal, Seamus was a well known member of the ESB staff for many years and a great family man. May He Rest In Peace.

All players both Adult and Juvenile must be Registered by March 31st if they hope to play this year. All managers should be sending reminder texts to their players / parents to make sure they get their membership for 2012 paid asap.

The U-16 Div. Footballers had a good win at home against Milford on Sunday. They travel to take on Burt this week. The Div. 2 team once again gave a good account of themselves before losing out away to Downings, they are at home to the Gaels this week. Both games throw-in at 12 noon on Sunday.

The U-13 Footballers begin training this Friday (23rd) at 5pm. This is for all players born in 1999.

Well done to our team that took 2nd place in Family Fortunes in Arena 7 on Friday night and won €500 for the club.

Thank You to everyone that helped with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade this year, especially all the children that showed up to march.

There will be a General Club Meeting on Tuesday, April 10th at 7pm in the Clubhouse. This meeting is open to all club members.

All managers have been e-mailed the Training Pitch schedule. Please make sure that you stick to your allotted time and if you have to change, make sure there is availability before arranging.

Anyone that  wants a club tie should contact Paul McGovern immediately (086-8114151) as the order will be placed at the end of this week.

The club is looking to recruit a Children’s Officer. The candidate must have a Child Protection Course done and will also be Garda vetted. If you are interested, or know someone you think is suitable, please contact Charlie McAteer on 087-2668633 asap

We also extend our sympathy to the family and friends of Frank Comiskey who passed away recently.
