DONEGAL IN DOGFIGHT TO PLAY TOP-FLIGHT FOOTBALL NEXT SEASON

Donegal fans will hope that Armagh aren’t on top form when they come to Ballybofey today.

Nothing but a win for Jim McGuinness’ side will guarantee them First Division football next season.

Of course Donegal fans don’t need to be told they cannot rely on Michael Murphy to fire them up front with the big Glenswilly man missing through injury.

For their part, Armagh have everything to play for in today’s game which throws in at 2.30pm.

They also need a win and two points to keep them in Division One next season.

However depending on the outcome of the games involving Dublin, Mayo and Down, Armagh could still find themselves in the semi-final.

The return of several Crossmaglen players from their All Ireland club victory last weekend will also strengthen the Armagh panel.

Donegal are the slight favourites at the bookies and that’s probably only because of home advantage and the fact that they need the win a little more.

McGuinness knows his team from Paul Durkan to Colm McFadden will need to be firing on all cylinders today.
