Get the suntan lotion out and the shorts on – Donegal is set to bask in glorious sunshine this weekend.

Although there may be the odd cloud about today, Met Eireann has promised uninterrupted sunshine across the county for Saturday and Sunday.

And the good news is that the warm weather is to continue into next week.

Parts of Donegal could reach as high as 25 degrees today, the warmest in the country.

But the average temperature for most parts will be a very healthy 22 degrees.

The sun couldn’t come at a better time with a raft of events on in every part of the county.

The North West Garden Show will be in full bloom in Castlefin.

The Donegal Live Event will see Alexandra Burke strut her stuff in Donegal Town.

And there will be a real celebration of life in Letterkenny when the Relay for Life event takes place.

So what are you waiting for? Get out and enjoy it!

And it seems like the sun is going to some people’s heads!

Kelly’s Centra at MOuntain op, Letterkenny are literally giving away BBQs.

Their takeaway BBQ packs consist of 2x 4oz gluten free steak burgers 2x hot n spicy chicken skewers, 4x jumbo pork sausages, 4x buffalo chicken wings & a sweet chilli dipping sauce and all for priced at €6.99.
