LETTERKENNY PUTS IN A ‘STERLING’ PERFORMANCE TO GET SHOPPERS IN

Letterkenny retailers are taking part in a unique project aimed at ‘cashing in’ on the strength of sterling especially along borders regions.

Over the next month many Letterkenny retailers are offering an exchange rate of £1 = €1.25.

Over the last number of months the Sterling Euro exchange rate has been moving in favour of Donegal and Letterkenny is all set to reap the rewards and attract Northern customers back into town.

John Watson, Letterkenny Chamber President said “We have seen an steady increase in sterling customers over the last few months and we know that this will increase more quickly as the summer holidays start.

“This exchange rate offer by a large number of independent businesses will help set Letterkenny apart. There is already excellent value to be had in terms of prices and this exchange rate is an added bonus that we want to take advantage of.”

Under the Shop LK initiative Letterkenny Chamber has produced a poster for participating shops which very simply tells customers the exchange rate in vibrant pink.

These have been distributed around independent retailers who will proudly display them on their shop windows.

John added “With the financial support of the Town Council we are promoting shopping in Letterkenny like never before and retailers being able to offer rates better than the banks will help in this promotional campaign.

“This is Letterkenny’s time to shine and time for our Northern customers who were always fond of Letterkenny to re-discover what Letterkenny has to offer. This town has a great shopping reputation and we are keen to keep our loyal customers and to attract back those who may not have been here for a while.”

Letterkenny has a high number of independent retailers stocking all the big brands at fantastic prices and more than that Letterkenny offers a great shopping experience.

There’s the traditional main street, the shopping centres, the retail parks and lots more in between and after a few hours shopping there’s lots of places to relax for a coffee, a meal or for family entertainment.

This exchange rate campaign will last well into the Summer so keep out an eye for the bright pink signs.
