This evening marks the beginning of 100th birthday celebrations for the much loved Annie McIntyre from Stranorlar.

Annie’s grandchildren have been preparing and organizing this weekend for almost a year now and the excitement is rising as the events begin this evening with a Meet & Greet for all the McIntyre cousins in the Forge Bar, Villa Rose Hotel.

More than200 grandchildren have arrived from all over Donegal, Ireland, England and as far as Australia and they have a lot of catching up to do!

After all the cousins get acquainted this evening they will then continue their reunion tomorrow morning with a Golf Tournament, Ireland vs England.

Tomorrow afternoon Annie McIntyre will unveil the Frances Browne Statue in the Pound Garden in Stranorlar, following this the McIntyre’s will commence their Sports Day which includes egg and spoon races to a Tug O War & Obstacles Courses to name but a few, this will involve the little cousins and indeed the big ones too!

Then time for food and a quick change and it will be time for the Mr & Mrs Competition! Sunday will be the main event of the weekend as over 370 will gather together for a mass to celebrate Annie McIntyre’s 100th Birthday.

After mass all of her family and guests will enjoy dinner followed by a This is your Life presentation and a Cabaret Talent Show all conducted by members of the McIntyre family.

Speaking of behalf of the organising committee “we are all so proud to be celebrating Granny’s 100th Birthday , she had 17 children and has a fantastic memory and enjoys keeping up to date with all her children, grandchildren , great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone and all the fun of this very special memorable weekend”
