Well done to Rory Kavanagh and the Donegal team on Sunday’s performance to defeat Down in the 2012 Ulster SFC Final in Clones. Kevin was forced to miss this year’s final once again through injury.
The Seniors and Reserves have no game this weekend with their League schedule nearly completed. The Juniors also have nearly completed their league programme and at time of writing there was no fixture available.
The U21 Championship game scheduled for Tuesday night (24th) against MacCumhaills has been postponed for a couple of weeks.
The Senior hurlers take on MacCumhaills at home this Wednesday in the Senior Championship in what is potentially a semi-final meeting after last week’s defeat against Burt. Throw-in is at 7:30pm. All support welcome.
The Minor footballers will now move into a co. semi-final in this year’s league competition scheduled for this Friday, July 27th with their opposition still to be determined from Kilcar or Aodh Rua, Ballyshannon.
The U-14 boy’s footballers defeated St. Michael’s in the Championship on Monday night. They take on Naomh Conaill in the League Final on Wednesday night in Ballybofey, throw-in at 7:30pm. All support would be welcome.
The Minor Board are provisionally scheduling a meeting for next Thursday, August 7th at 7pm in the Clubhouse. A confirmation e-mail will be sent as well as details on Facebook.
The U16 Hurlers had a 1 point win over Burt in the League in a game where neither side were ever more little more than a point apart. There is no U16 game this Thursday so training for U16 Hurlers will be held in O’Donnell Park at 5:15pm instead.
The U12 Hurlers had a narrow loss away to the Four Masters in the League. Details of the game this Thursday will be given at training.
Congratulations to Conor O’Grady and Caoimhin Lennon who were on the U15 Co Donegal Hurling team that won the Peter O’Keefe Memorial Tournament. The won all their group games and in the final against Roscommon came from a four point deficit to equalise with the last puc of the ball and went on to win in extra time.
Both Academies will return this week after a break last week, Hurling & Camogie at 6:30pm on Friday and Football at 11am on Sunday.
The historic 1992 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning team are holding a Gala Reunion in Donegal Town on Saturday night, August 18th. Tickets are available from Paul Carr and can also be purchased from the Mt. Errigal Hotel. The event will be hosted by broadcasting legend Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh and Highland’s Charlie Collins.
