MORE THAN one hundred protestors shouted and jeered as Household Tax minister Phil Hogan arrived in Glenties today to make a political speech.

The Minister refused to meet the protestors, going instead inside the Highlands Hotel where he was speaking at the MacGill Summer School.

There was a large Garda presence in the village.

And some scuffles – but claims there was a riot were dismissed by Gardai.
