BACK HOME IN RAPHOE: CHLOE MAGEE

SUPER Olympian Chloe Magee returned home to Raphoe tonight – and received a welcome fit for the heroine she is from people from across County Donegal.

Even fellow Olympian Brendan Boyce joined the badminton star as thousands turned out to welcome Chloe back.

Ironically both Chloe and Brendan are being tipped for medals when the next Olympics come around again in 2016 in the glamourous surroundings of Rio.

Veteran politician and proud local Paddy Harte was among those who spoke to welcome Chloe home.

“She has done her town proud and she had done her county proud,” said the former TD.

Chloe, 23, was joined by family and friends.

“It was incredible,” she said, “there were so many people who came out and it really is very humbling.

“It’s so great to be home.”

Chloe made it through her first round but was beaten narrowly by a the former world No1.

Experts in the sport predict that by the time 2016 comes round, Chloe could be in a position to challenge for a medal.

From all of us here Chloe, well done – and welcome home!
