Gaoth Dobhair’s monthly Irish language music and entertainment event, Cabaret Craiceáilte returns to Hiudai Beag’s pub this Saturday, before next week’s Craiceáilte event at the Oireeachtas na Gaeilge festival in Letterkenny.
A mixture of flamenco and latin gyspy music and Irish language Rock, pop and folk, as well as top class magician and local traditional musicians will keep the Craiceáilte flame burning Tigh Hiúdaí, An Bun Beag, Gaoth Dobhair, this Saturday, 27 October.
Sarumba are a Latin, Gypsy, Flamenco fusion band bases in Galway, and they will bring their unique sound to Hiudai’s on Saturday.Sarumba feature, Vincenzo Donnarumma from Italy, Celia Olivar from Andalucia ( home of Flamenco music), and Delia Domingues from Barcelona.
They don’t play tradditional flamenco, but rather a fusion of flamenco, latin, mediterenean, gypsy, rumba.
Caoimhín Mac Giolla Chathain, lead singer of the Belfast based reggae group Bréag, will showcase some of his new solo material recorded under the title Caoimhín Ceol, and he will be joined by Tin Pot Operation’s bass player, Sharon Morgan.
Also on the bill for the night are Gort a Choirce/An Fal Carrach based traditional group, EIST, Dublin based magician, and Glas Vegas winner, Darragh Power, and Derry Pop Singer, JJ Dolba Ó Dochartaigh.
Cabaret Craiceáilte an Oireachtais , as part of the Oireachtas na Gaeilge festival, in Letterkenny, next weekend, will take place in the Clanree Hotel on Saturday 3rd November, and features ” Dirty 9’s, Daithí Ó Drónaí, Tura Aru Tura, Mó Hat Mó Gheansaí agus cuid mhór aoíanna móra eile atá le fógairt. Bígí Craiceáilte linn ag Oireachtas na Gaeilge i Leitir Ceanainn!”.
