Congratulations to Lousie Gillespie, Braade, Annagry who was presented with the Lifford AC Hall of Fame Award at their annual presentations night at the Fir Trees Strabane on Sunday night last. Louise, nee McGettigan, was a former Lifford AC athlete who won a staggering 45 All Ireland Track and Field medals during her athletics career. Thanks to Lifford for the great hospitality and to all who travelled on the night to be present with Louise. Three club athletes competed in Letterkenny AC’s 5 mile road race in Letterkenny last Sunday where there was 120+ entries. Noel Diver had an excellent run to come home in 5th place in 28:38. Michael Logue made the top ten with a time of 29:57 while Deirdre Diver finished 4th senior woman in a time of 35:40. The club will hold a 5k Spring series with three races over the next three months. The first race is pencilled for Sunday 20th January with registrations in the Airport at 11am and race starting at 11:45am sharp. The course will be course used for the summer 5k around the airport and finishing on the pitch beside airport. Points awarded for each race with category prizes awarded after the final race. This is open to walkers, joggers and the more serious runners. As it is a club fundraiser we would as many people to support as possible.
