A WEATHER warning has been issued for Co Donegal this Tuesday, with strong winds and heavy rain being predicted for the afternoon and evening.
Winds will reach gale force for a time, possibly storm force around dusk.
It will however be mild with temperatures of around 11C, falling at night to 4C.
Forecasters from all the main channels are predicting a deluge throughout the day with rainfall in places of between 15mm and 25mm.
But it’s damaging winds which could cause the most disruption.
Met Eireann has issued the following warning for the North West for Tuesday afternoon and evening:
Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal
Southwest to west winds will reach mean speeds of 60 to 75 km/hr with gusts of 90 to 120 km/hr – strongest in coastal areas. Valid from 15:00 to 24:00 hours Tuesday 29th January
It will remain wet and windy throughout the rest of the week; however winds will not be a strong.
