HOW DONEGAL MEN CAN ‘EVOLVE’ TO LOOK GOOD ON VALENTINE’S DAY!

The biggest date night of the year is fast approaching. We’ve all seen those mismatched couples out on the town…the lady in a fancy dress, her date attired in old faded jeans and runners that have seen their day!

So guys…whether you’re keeping the evening out on the casual side, or if you’re dressing it up a bit more, our friends at Evolve Menswear in Letterkenny have some great tips to help keep your love life “Evolving”!

A GREAT PAIR OF JEANS: if you do not own this important item, we suggest you make your way to Evolve and buy a pair now – you will be glad you did. This is one item that you absolutely cannot live without. It will be your fashion staple in terms of casual and dress-casual occasions. This can be paired with a great t-shirt and a blazer or perhaps a fancy double-collar shirt with or without a tie.

CHINOS: Chinos are a popular item to have in your wardrobe this season. Don’t be afraid to have some fun with their various colours! Evolve stock a wide range of colours, shapes and sizes.photo (31)

A SMART CASUAL BLAZER: is a must-have item, and NO, it is not actually your suit jacket! Guys put on a jacket for the date and right away, your basic shirt gets a face lift. Those jeans that you’ve just bought will instantly look even better. If you want to really wow her, put a folded pocket square in the breast pocket of the jacket in a corresponding colour to your shirt or better yet, on the day of love, make it red or pink!

SHIRTS ARE AN ALL-TIME FAVOURITE: Carry this elegant look by teaming up with chinos or jeans to get the semi-formal look. Or go with dress trousers for a more formal look. Tuck in the shirt loosely to get the perfect look. If you are wearing a blazer, plain shirts are best inside the blazer. White is a hot pick for a Valentine’s Day date! But you can be bold by mixing patterned shirts with the right blazer.

SHOES TELL A LOT ABOUT A MAN! If you are wearing a slim jean, pair them with a slim dressy shoe. Choose casual lace-up trainers or boots for a boot-cut jean. Canvas trainers are big for Spring Summer and are perfect with chinos.

MAKE AN EFFORT: If you are going super casual, you still need to make an effort. A slim fit t-shirt with a great pair of jeans is simple, casual and attractive. Wear a hoodie or jacket and sneakers to finish the look.photo (32)

BE UNIQUE: How about something that gets you noticed for your uniqueness? Now don’t go too far with this one, guys. For example, an eye-catching belt (which should match the colour of your shoes when going for a dressy look), a smashing pair of socks, a cosy scarf, a smart tie, or perhaps a stellar wallet. Don’t forget that the ladies notice detail and you would be remiss to put on a great ensemble and omit the detail!

Evolve Menswear has everything you need to impress your Valentine, and trends to carry you through Spring and Summer. They are located in the Letterkenny Retail Park. Opening hours are Mon-Wed 9:30am-6pm; Thur & Fri 9:30am-9pm; Sat 9am-6pm; Sun 12noon-6pm.
