St Eunan's GAA logoMembership Registration for 2013 is underway with a large turnout attending the Clubhouse last Saturday to Register.

There are only two more Registration sessions and they take place this Wednesday (Feb. 20th) between 6pm and 8pm and this Saturday (Feb. 23rd) between 11am and 2pm. Both take place in the Clubhouse. We also have some nice new club jackets to pre-order. Samples and sizes are available to try on at Registration sessions. Membership Registration forms are also available to download from the club website under the downloads tab.

The Code of Best Practice in Youth Sport is also available to view and download from the website and should be read by all coaches.

The Senior Hurlers had an impressive win against St Agnes of Belfast scoring 4-09 to 2-11. The hurlers now qualify for a place in the semi-final in Division 4 of the Táin league with date, venue etc. tbc.

The Senior Ladies travel to Crossmaglen on Saturday to take part in the Crossmaglen 7’s Tournament. 7 a-side training in Boals Goals on Thursday 6-7pm. Normal training for Minors and Seniors takes place in the Convent Gym on Friday 5.30-7pm.

The Minor Boys footballers begin their League campaign with a tough assignment on March 10th away to Buncrana.

Comhghairdeas le Andy McGranaghan who won in his semi final outing in the recitation competition of Scór Sinsir in Burt on Saturday. Andy gave a tremendous performance and will take part in the county final in Gleann t-Súilí this Friday 22nd February. The competition starts at 7.30pm and all club members who have an interest in Scór are asked to come out to support Andy. Go néirigh go geal le Andy.

Well done also to the quiz team who took part in Tráth na gCeisteanna but unfortunately for Cormac Goulding, Jamsie Connors and Francis Lennon, they came up against stiff opposition on the night. Our solo singer and current county champion, Seán Feeney was unable to defend his title due to a throat infection. The most important thing is that the club took part in scór na nÓg, Scór Sinsir and Tráth na gCeisteanna Bord this year and in the latter, the club got through to the Ulster final which in itself is a great achievement and gave a good account of themselves in the Ulster final where they ended in a respectable 4th place with 18 teams taking part.

Anyone interested in helping out with the St. Patricks Day collection for Conradh na Gaeilge is asked to contact Oifigeach na Gaeilge – Fergus McGee on 086 854 4445.

This year’s Senior Board Dinner Dance will take place in the Mt. Errigal Hotel on Friday, March 8th at 8pm. Tickets priced at €25 can be purchased at our Registration sessions.

Please note that the training pitch is not yet available for use except to the Senior teams and Minor boys footballers. It should be available in mid March. Keep an eye on notes and FB page for details.

There were 5 winners that matched 3 numbers in this week’s Lotto draw and they win €20 each. 4-16-17-23 were the numbers drawn. Eugene Duffy, Killyclug; Noel Keaveny, Drumany; Barry Meehan, Glendale (all card); Stephen Sommerville, Trillick, Omagh, Co. Tyrone and Danny McConnell c/o Adrian (both Adrian).

We extend our sympathies this week to Joe McCauley and family, Castlefin and to Dr. Garrett Farrell and family on their bereavements.
