Lotto & 100+ Clubred hughs

There was no jackpot winning sequence in this weeks Lotto draw but Edel Kelly matched 4 numbers to win €50. Numbers drawn were 3,5,2,8,7,6,4,1. Next weeks Lotto jackpot is €2,050. The Lotto sellers in the coming weeks are: 6th April – Paddy Kelly, 13th April – Barry Bradley, 20th April – Joe Carlin and 27th April – Eamonn Kelly.

 

The winner of the 100+ Club draw this week was Jean Doherty who wins €100. Thanks to all for their continued support of the weekly Lotto & 100+ Club.

 

The winners of this weeks players draws were Calvin Bradley, PJ Gallagher, Luke Kelly and John Sweeney.

 

Seniors & Reserves

The new league season started for both teams on Saturday evening in Lifford. The reserves started their game well and lead at half time but Lifford finished the stronger. Final score: Red Hughs 0-5 N. Padraig 2-10. Team: K. Neeson, P. O’Brien, D. McCreary, P. Callaghan, P. McMenamin, R. Gallen, F. Muldoon, S. Doherty, A. Mongan, B. O’Brien, J. McMenamin, C. Bonner, A. McConnell, M. Wilson, D. Wilson Subs: C. Deeney, D. O’Brien, C. McGill, T. Coyle. P. Melaugh.

 

The seniors got off to a good start in their game and led at half time 1-8 to 0-4 but the home side fought back in the second half with the aid of a strong breeze and the game ended in a draw. Red Hughs 1-9 N. Padraig 0-12. Team: L. Kelly, A. Bradley, T. McMenamin, K. Gallen, K. Melaugh, G. Melaugh, G. Kelly, E. Browne, M. Bonner, P. McGlinchey, C. Bradley, M. McMenamin, D. Browne, C. Both teams are fixed to play Naomh Columba at home this Saturday 6th April with the senior at 6.45pm and reserve at 5.30pm. All should come out to support the teams. Training continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.00pm.

 

Senior Ladies

The senior ladies played St Nauls in Mountcharles on Monday and gave a battling display but just lost out in the end. Red Hughs 2-2 St Nauls 4-7. Hard luck to the girls. They have no game next weekend.

 

Minor Board

The U14 boys began their league campaign at home to Malin on Monday evening. Despite losing the game they gave a fighting performance against a strong Malin side and there were some good passages of play in the game from a young Red Hughs team. If they keep up the hard work the results will come. Team: Jason Woods, James Gallagher, Evan Pye, Brian Devine, Darragh Gallagher, Stephen John Carlin, Darragh McMenamin, Tim Callaghan, Jason Callaghan, James Callaghan, Dylan Lafferty, Stevie McBride, Ryan Dullaghan, Aiden Gallen, Odhran Callaghan, Oisin Mongan, Caolan O’Dwyer, James Patton, Kieran Neeson. Their next game is away to Burt next Monday 8th April at 7.00pm.

 

The minors have a busy programme of fixtures ahead and are due to play Lifford away on Tuesday evening 2nd April at 6.30pm, Malin at home on Friday 5th April at 7.00pm, and Burt at home on Monday the 8th April at 7.00pm.

 

The underage training continues this Saturday from 11.00-12.00 noon for all boys and girls from U6 to U12/13. The U12/13 girls training continues on Saturday from 11.00-12.00 noon. There have been good numbers out already so keep it up. All new players are welcome. Players are now required to wear gumshields at all training sessions and games.

 

Back of the Wall 5K Challenge

This years ‘Back of the Wall Challenge’ 5k walk/run will take place on Sunday 21st April. Check the Red Hughs Facebook page for more details and for training schedule.

 

Come Dine With Me

Red Hughs Ladies presents ‘Come Dine With Me’ on Saturday 13th April at 7.30pm. Contact Kathy Kelly (087) 7647168 or Marie McColgan (086) 3242100 for further details!

 

Goalkeeper Coaching Session

There is a goalkeeper coaching session with Paul Callaghan at the pitch on Wednesday the 10th April at 7.00pm. All goalkeepers from U16 up are to attend as well as all team managers.
