Four Masters continued their unbeaten start to the league by taking 2 valuable points against newly promoted Killybegson Friday evening. Scores were at a premium and this was a tough battle with both defences giving up little in terms of scoring opportunities. The fact that Four Masters played the final 25 minutes with 14 men made the home side deserving winners on the night.

Brendan McGuire opened the scoring before Luke Keaney equalised on 7 minutes. Conor McDaid and McGuire then exchanged frees before McDaid slotted again to give the home side a 0-03 to 0-02 half-time lead.

The second half was just 5 minutes old when Luke Keaney and Pauric Gallagher tangled and referee Mickey Mulhern saw fit to send the Four Masters man for an early shower. Once again, the side with the extra man struggled to capitalise on the advantage and Four Masters took over in terms of possession. Conor McDaid scored a fine point off his left side to extend the home lead but Ronan Boyle pulled one back for the fishermen.

The game nearly boiled over on a few occasions during the second half but Raymie McGroary settled the Four Masters nerves with a well taken point from play on 45 minutes. Brendan McGuire with another free pulled it back to one but a foul on Conor McDaid was converted by himself to give a final score of 0-06 to 0-04 to Four Masters.
