SOCCER – BONAGEE START USL SEASON AGAINST DRUMKEEN

The U.S.L. Div 1 team start there season this Saturday 8th June at home against Drunkeen k.o. is 2pm.

The Under 12 team brought the curtain down on a hugely successful season at under-age level as goals from Adam and Jack Murphy, Jordan Nugent, Jazzer Martin, Darragh Ellison, Peter Carr and Johnathan Coady saw them defeat Kilmacrennan 7-2 in the cup final at Leckview pk and complete a historic double at this level for the club. They clinched the league title a few weeks ago.

The club held its presentation for the Youth and Donegal League teams last Sunday night in Arena 7 and the following players all received trophies on the night.

Youth league player of the year was Paddy O’ Loan, player’s player of the year was Ronan Dorrian and leading goal scorer was Michael Kelly. Donegal league player of the year was John Carr, joint Player’s player of the year were Shane Kelly and Kevin Doran and leading goal scorer was Darren Coyle. John Lafferty received the Clubman of the year award.

The club would like to thank Gerard O’Loan of Lurgybrack Open Farm who sponsored the trophies. There was a special presentation by the club to the Donegal league team management team of Seamus O’ Donnell, Liam Haughey, Anthony Gildea and Kieran Mc Kay who got promotion to Div 1.

There was no jackpot winner in the clubs weekly lotto draw last Sunday. Numbers drawn were 3,4,5,10,13,15 lucky no. was 7. There were four match five no .winners Jimmy Gildea Correnagh, Tony Kelly Drumnahoe, Tom Molloy Correnagh and Martin Gildea Correnagh. Lucky no. winners Mickey Toner Glenswilly, Barry Gildea Correnagh, David Kirby Listillion, Barbara Hunter Long lane and George Thomas Bates Bonagee. Lotto plus winners €50David Lackey Dublin, €30 Sadie Callaghan Drumany and €20 Francis & Dermott Gillespie.

The club would like to congratulate Arlene Crossan who broke the long jump record at the All Ireland Junior Schools competitions in Tullamore last Saturday. The record has stood since 1989 and well done to her. The club would like to thank all who took part in the clubs first 5k walk last Sunday you’re support was very much appreciated by the club.
