Fine Gael TD Joe McHugh has said that the €3,027,053 allocated to Donegal for additional road surface restoration works, is the third largest allocation of funding nationwide, from a total budget of €50m.
The funding for Regional & Local Roads Expenditure has been announced this morning by Minister for Transport Leo Varadkar TD.
Deputy McHugh said: “Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Leo Varadkar TD has allocated €3.027m to Donegal County Council for additional funding to be directed primarily to surface restoration works in 2013, from a total budget of €50m nationally.
“Donegal has received the third largest allocation nationwide.
“I understand that there is also flexibility for some of the additional funding to be allocated to particular safety schemes, should Donegal County Council consider that those particular safety schemes need to be progressed urgently.
“Donegal has received the third largest allocation in the country.”
