GOLF NEWS – NO LET UP FOR LETTERKENNY LADIES

Following a busy golfing period with two of our major competitions, there was no let up last week.

The week commenced with the Mount Errigal Hotel sponsored club competition and the results were as follows: Front 9 (21 points BOT) Lady Captain Sandra McMonagle; Back 9 Grainne Hines (18 points); 3rd Marian O’Sullivan (35 points); 2nd An in-form Bridie Gildea (36 points points); 1st Place – Anne Flannery (36 points BOT).

On Thursday the rescheduled Arena 7 club competition was held and the scores for this competition were as follows: Front 9 Vera Kearney (18 points); Back 9 Bridie Gildea (20 points); 3rd Veronica McAteer (35 points); 2nd Pauline Curley (36 points BOT); 1st Place Marian Keating (36 points). The presentation of prizes for this competition will follow.

Congratulations to all this week’s prizewinners and many thanks to the continued support of our sponsors.

This week, the top eight in Ruth’s Pharmacy competition will qualify to represent the club in the Mary McDaid Memorial Trophy, played annually in Portsalon Golf Club on September 14th.

The September Medal, kindly sponsored by Eileen Keating, Una Doherty, Maureen Sweeney and Monica McDonagh, will be held on September 3rd. Please ensure your name is on the draw sheet in the ladies locker room.

Best wishes to Lady Captain Sandra on her Lady Captain’s outing to Ballyliffin this weekend.
