GAA NEWS: TOUGH WEEKEND FOR ST EUNAN’S TEAMS

st. eunan'sIt was a tough weekend for the Black & Amber! The Senior bowed out of this year’s championship to Malin in Buncrana on Saturday evening in disappointing fashion. They will come back stronger for it next year no doubt. They still sit on top of the All County League Division 1 standings. Likewise, the Reserves suffered a defeat to Gaoth Dobhair on Sunday in the league, but still on top of their league table.

The Senior Hurlers were defeated in their Shield final on Sunday by MacCumhaills in the Park.

The U16 Boys Div. 1 footballers defeated a good Gaoth Dobhair team in the Northern League final on Saturday evening on a score of 2-13 to 2-11 in a cracking game. They are at home to MacCumhaills this Saturday in the Championship with a 4pm throw-in. The div. 2 team will take on the Gaels the following week.

The U14 girls lost their county final on Sunday to Moville to a late, late goal. Goals were their undoing as they went down by 3-08 to 6-01. This is a very talented team and no doubt they will be challenging again for honours in the coming years.

The U13 boys div 1 team drew with N. Padraig, Muff on Sunday after late confusion over a disallowed first half goal proved frustrating for the lads. They travel to Termon this Sunday. The div. 2 team had a good win over Milford and they are also on the road this Sunday to Cloughaneely.

The U16 hurlers lost their championship semi-final to a strong Buncrana outfit to end their season. The U12 hurlers will play in their league final this Thursday, keep an eye on social media and e-mail for more details. The Minor Hurlers await details of the B-Championship Final against Burt.

Our All-Ireland Final Tickets Draw takes place this Thursday, Sept 19th at 8pm in the Clubhouse. Please return your tickets asap. There are 8 great prizes to be won. Anyone still looking for tickets can contact Elaina on 087-2901541.

There was one winner in this week’s lotto draw that matched all 4 numbers and wins the jackpot of €3,650. Jack McLaughlin, Port Rd. (Adrian) picked numbers 1-2-11-13. Next week’s jackpot is €1,000
