1379863_10201383935212663_1114384978_nTHERE are celebrations in the Rosses tonight after Naomh Muire won today’s Intermediate Championship title in a fine final win over St Naul’s at O’Donnell Park, Letterkenny.

In the end the Annagry men had six points to spare, winning on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-07.

The Yank Boyles did most of the damage, Shaun scoring the early first half goal, leaving his marker and firing past Lee McBrearty.

When Harry Harden had a chance of a second goal, his effort was blocked by an illegal foot challenge, but Paul Yank Boyle had his penalty saved.

It was a let off for St Naul’s who went in at half-time trailing 1-06 to 0-05.

Shaun and Paul both pointed at the start of the second half and it was all Naomh Muire after that.

St Naul’s James Flynn bagged a goal in the dying seconds but it was merely a consolation.

St Naul’s can look forward to Division 2 football next year and there is little doubt that Naomh Muire deserved today’s championship.
