GAA NEWS: URRIS ANNOUNCE EASTER DRAW WINNERS

SENIOR & RESERVE FOOTBALL: The Seniors & Reserves played their first home game on Sunday past against Naomh Colmcille. Seniors lost to a better Newton side on the day 0-15 to 1-07. The Reserves won their match by 4-08 to 2-08. At time of these notes going to press weekend fixtures confirmed for Seniors & Reserves are both teams are away to N Brid but please check our Facebook page for any change to this fixture.

Easter Draw Winners in aid of Under-age football in the Club:

1st Prize-€100 Easter Hamper: Sonia, The Glen House.

2nd Prize-€50 Easter Hamper: Norman Stewart, Straths.

3rd Prize- Box Chocolates: James Doherty, Claggin.

4th Prize- Easter Egg: Margaret Toland, Tornabratley.

5th Prize- Box Biscuits: Patricia Bradley, Gort, Fahan. CLG Iorras wish to thank all who bought tickets, sold tickets and supported this draw in any way. Thanks to the Square Bar for use of the premises to do this draw.

 

UNDER-AGE FOOTBALL FIXTURES: Well done to our U14 girls who defeated Carndonagh in Straid last week, final score Iorras 3-11 Carndonagh 1-03. U14 boys lost to Moville in the B semi-final of the Joe Mc Geady cup on Sunday past, final score Urris 2-05 Moville 4-11.

 

Ladies Football: Our Ladies open their season on Sunday April 27th at home to N Columba.

 

MATCH “N” WIN APRIL 17th: No Jackpot winner -numbers drawn: 1, 2, 5, & 14. €15 winners: ,Conn Doherty, Golf Club Road, Kevin Devlin, Straid, Fiona Doherty, Hawthorn Cottages, Cloontagh, Corney Doherty, Lewis Pienaar, Cloontagh. Jackpot next week €1,340.

BOOT EXCHANGE SCHEME: for Under-age players- In these times of financial constraints CLG IORRAS/URRIS GAA are hoping to introduce-old football boots in good condition that children have out grown can be dropped in or exchanged for a bigger/smaller pair as required. A minimum donation of €5 to the club for the boots that are taken away. Please contact Nichola Lagan on 0866030736 for further information . Boots can now be dropped at the Clubhouse at all under-age training.

 

Training for the U16 continues on Thursday at 5pm in Straid.
