st. eunan'sClub Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin

In Association with Letterkenny Shopping Centre

This week we bid a sad farewell to another member of our Hall of Fame, the Great John Hannigan. John represented his club and county with great distinction for many years, playing over 100 matches for Donegal at a time when it was unheard of to do so. Known for his great sense of humour and as one of life’s true gentleman, John will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to get to know him. He retained a keen interest in both St. Eunan’s and Donegal football and was also an excellent golfer. To his wife Claire and children Adrienne and Damien we extend our deepest sympathies. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

All managers are reminded that pre match warm-ups are to take place on the Training Pitch and not on the Main pitch.

Congratulations to our 5 players that were members of the County Minor squad that lifted the Ulster League title last week, Conor Morrison, Conall O’Boyle, David Tyrell, Michael Miller and Sean Daffan.

The Minor Board are holding a Night at the Races on Friday, May 30th in The Glencar Inn. Cards will be distributed to all teams in the coming days and a big effort is needed by EVERYONE to help raise funds for training gear and match balls purchased recently. Horses cost €10. If anyone wants to sponsor a race, contact Paul McGovern asap on 086-8114151 or at: paulmagoo@eircom.net. MC on the night will be the one and only….. Dickie McGranaghan

The Minor hurlers lost to Aodh Ruadh last Thursday in the league despite an excellent performance by this young team. They play away to Burt this Thursday. The U14 hurlers defeated Burt last week and meet the same opponents at home this Thursday. The U10 hurlers had a great day out at the first blitz of the year in Convoy last Sunday with these young hurlers doing the club proud in all six games.
