BnNI8qMIIAEdppILETTERKENNY cyclist Philip Deignan is flying the flag in more ways than one for his native county this weekend.

His Team Sky lies in fifth place heading into Day Two of the Giro d’Italia – just over half a minute behind the leaders.

And as leader of his team, no-one could stop him showing off the Donegal colours aboard the team bus!

“It’s amazing, I’ve been racing all over the world as a pro, but I never thought I’d be racing a Grand Tour in my home country,” said Philip.

“As a team we’ll be aggressive, stage-hunting throughout the three weeks. Me, personally, I’m going to try and win some of the stages later in the race, some of the hillier stages that suit me.

“So yes, we’re going to be aggressive throughout the three weeks.”
