Moyle N.S. P.T.A. are holding their annual 5k Fun Walk/Fun Run tomorrow night, Thursday 29th May 2014 at 6.30pm.

Cost is €5 for adults and kids go free. There will be light refreshments served afterwards and an ice-cream van for young and old to enjoy!!

The walk will leave the school grounds and head off around a beautiful scenic route near the school. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in.

The school will also be holding their annual ‘Get Fit, Get Healthy’ Week from the 26th -29th May so the walk/run will coincide with this.

This is a week of sports and healthy eating for everyone in the school and will help in the schools effort to gain its second Active Flag.

The school were very proud to be only the second school in Inishowen to raise their first Active Flag in 2010, and it was made even more special when Irish Badminton Olympian Chloe Magee did the honours.

For those who may not be familiar with Moyle N.S., it as a rural, four teacher school on the outskirts of Newtowncunningham situated half a mile along the Moyle Road.

It is a very well resourced school and there are lots of extra circular activities on offer though out school year including swimming, organic gardening, cooking, sports coaching, drama and trips.

The school held an Easter Egg-xtravaganza this year to help raise funds towards transport costs for their trip to see the musical ‘Shrek’ in the Bord Gais Theatre this October.

School transport is available from the Newtowncunningham, Burt and Manorcunningham areas.

The pupils are looking forward to a visit of the Six Nations Rugby trophy to the school next week as it takes a tour around the Ulster province and later in the month some of the classes will be participating in Pedal Right, an educational and safe cycling practices programme.

During the summer months a number of the pupils cycle to school under the supervision of their parents.

Moyle N.S. is still enrolling for September 2014 for children of all backgrounds and faiths.

Anyone who would like to come and visit the school and see what we have to offer can arrange an appointment by contacting the office on 074 9156192.

You can also have a look at the great work and achievements of our pupils by checking out the school website at www.moylens.scoilnet.ie.
