It’s all systems go as Earagail Arts Festival launches a jam-packed, fun-filled festival programme and members of the public are invited to be a part of it.

Volunteers play a key role in the success of the Festival and organisers are holding two volunteers’ information sessions in the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny on Wednesday 11th June at 7pm and Saturday 21st June at 2pm.

Those interested in finding out more about volunteering for EAF this year are welcome to attend.

In addition to the volunteer effort, the support of local businesses in the county plays a major role in the festival’s success.

The Station House Hotel in Letterkenny is the festival’s accommodation sponsor and Marketing Manager at the hotel, Siobhan Barrett-Doherty said, “Once again, we’re delighted to come on board as accommodation sponsors for this year’s festival.

“The partnership is a natural fit for us because The Station House Hotel is about giving our guests a warm Donegal welcome and Earagail Arts Festival is an excellent way to experience that welcome at its very best.

The festival’s centrepiece production is ‘Fiesta’, a new play celebrating one of the finest dance halls in Ireland. Running from Saturday 12th to Monday 14th July.

‘Fiesta’ is a not-to-be-missed celebration of the music, memories and stories that made the Fiesta Ballroom in Letterkenny so unique.

At the programme launch, and in honour of the Fiesta Ballroom, the Earagail Arts team dressed in their finest vintage frocks, with hair styled in beautiful 1950’s fashion by the Patrick Gildea Hairdressing team.

Another key event in the festival programme is “I Do”, an exciting piece of site specific theatre by UK based Theatre Company Dante or Die, which delves into the emotional twists and turns of the morning of a wedding.

The venue sponsors, Clanree Hotel, will host this thrilling event, while Evolve Menswear will be sending out a very special invitation to the wedding.

Commenting on the association, Aileen McCloskey, Marketing Manager, Evolve Menswear said, “As a local business, Evolve Menswear is delighted to support Earagail Arts Festival.

Donegal is one of the most beautiful places in the world and Earagail Arts Festival attracts people from all over to visit our lovely county to experience the magic that the festival represents.

Additional sponsors of the festival include John McGinley Luxury Coach Travel, Inishowen Motors, Watson Hire, Letterkenny Credit Union and LYIT, whose contribution and support helps festival organisers deliver an enriching and unrivalled cultural experience every year.

Now in its 26th year, Earagail Arts Festival takes place from Saturday, 12th – 26th July and is one of the flagship Donegal events along the Wild Atlantic Way.

This year’s festival has something for everyone, from family and outdoor events to theatre, comedy, art, workshops and music from all corners of the world.

Hosting a vibrant and varied programme throughout Inishowen, Letterkenny and west Donegal, Earagail Arts Festival features the best of local and international performances.

Volunteering is one of the best ways to experience all that the festival has to offer, so come along to the volunteers’ information sessions and start planning your summer of festival fun.
