Gardai have the road between Fintown and Dungloe closed following a serious road accident.

Gardai have closed the road between Fintown and Dungloe following a serious road accident.

Two people have been injured following a serious road accident in Fintown.

Two ambulances, the Glenties Fire Service and Gardaí have all attended the scene of the accident.

The two people injured in the accident were rushed to Letterkenny hospital by ambulance where they were treated for broken limbs

The main road to Dungloe from Fintown has since been re-opened

The two people – a couple from Co Down – escaped serious injury.

The accident happened at 12.50pm when the car in which they were travelling veered off the road and collided with a wall.
